The Ceiling is Finally Finished!

Now, surprisingly, and contrary to all bets placed, my blond hair is not yellow + blue makes green.
Miraculously not even a bit of blue in my hair.

This is what I started with:

Lots of potential, right?

This is NOW:

I was able to miraculously transform this pine table from the overwhelming yellowness that it was before, to this pretty aqua color using Krylon Spray Paint.  I will show that later.

Turn around - be careful, don't bump into anything......This is the living room.  I maybe should have left the light on for this shot??  Can you see the beautiful blue ceilings?  So peaceful.

Now for my bedroom.  Remember, this is 320 sq ft, so it is not easy to get a good shot....

This was before:

 And now:
Sorry about the not so good quality of the shot.  I will fix it later :)
Also, I would like ideas on the eyesore, but necessary, air conditioner.  Maybe I will just ignore it......

See the blue ceiling?  By the way, more of Janis Wylie, the wonderful sister-in-law artist's work in the original painting below:

See her here: http://janiswylie.com/

I still have to do the bathroom, the office, our walk-in-closet (yes, I DO have one), and my son's room.  His room will be in the summer as I will be adding wings and raising the roof on his loft.
IT WILL be AWESOME when we are done :)

I love my tiny home.

I REALLY love it.

You are brilliant! I love how the paint looks. I bet it wasn't easy painting everything but it's so worth it!

BTW, stopping by from the TLC 2010 re-do party.

I just found your site and am amazed.I can definitely understand the draw of a tiny, PAID FOR cottage. I wanted to do something similiar but we have been unable to sell our big house with the big mortgage so we are staying put.You did a wonderful job making the small space stylish. I look forward to following your blog.

Hi! I'm your new follower. Found you through Kim @ Savvy Southern Style. I love your tiny house and can see where it would take mountains of courage to downsize the 320 sq. ft.! My husband would love it! Me? Have not found that courage! Will visit often to see what you're up to. BTW, I'm a Southern girl, too!

Very cute! I love the colors you used, and looks like you used your small space very well.

As for the A/C, I remember an episode on Decorating Cents where they made a wood frame around the A/C, then put lovered shutters on the front. Hides the A/C when you aren't using it, then you open the louvers for air flow when you need it.

For a visual, I was able to find the url of the show: http://www.hgtv.com/decorating-cents/shabby-chic-living-room-makeover/index.html

I love your tiny home too. I really do :) Well done. The air conditioner, is a hard one. a faux cover of some sort, that can be used as a shelf. Or that looks like a large shabby chic shade hanging from the ceiling. Or as you say, just ignore it.

Wow. This is my first visit here. You are really going to live there? I thought maybe it was a guest house or something. I admire you! It is amazing what you've done with such a small space!

Love the white walls and blue ceilings! It all is so tranquil. You have been busy. I really love the look of the plank walls with the white paint.

I don't know exactly how I stumbled onto your site; been surfing Tiny House Newsletter most of the day (Sat Nov 17th that is) And finally found your site. I must say use of paint color on the inside walls of your tiny house is very refreshing! I SO PREFER this look to just the plain woodgrain walls, guess I've spent too many years in mobile homes with fake wood paneling walls - very dark! I love & crave color, especially pastels! Congrats on your family, home and office collaborations. Be well and let your individual spirit lights shine.
