I knew it was about time to hear this years color predictions, but as usuall I lag behind....Somehow it does not matter as much in Baby Land, the soft, fuzzy, beautiful kingdom where I dwell. Pink has always reigned supreme. Maybe not a specific shade such as
Pantone 18-2120 TCX,
but pink.
Some interesting facts about pink:
On European children pink was considered a stronger color, thus was considered appropriate for boys, blue was more delicate, therefore should be saved for girls. Also, in 1921, the Women's Institute for Domestic Science in Pennsylvania endorsed pink for boys, blue for girls. (See it here)
For a short time, it was thought that a specific hue of pink, very close to Pepto Bismol, could calm inmates. Prisons across America primed and painted the prissy pink hue on walls everywhere. Finally declared a failure, they have been slowly covered over with Institutional Grey. What a shame, seeing that that shade is now coming back.
So now I leave you with this:
Many thanks to Nita at Mod Vintage Life for the heads up :)

Very interesting facts about the pink! Love the song!
I don't really watch for the color predictions, because I have a love of decorating with white... lol! But in baby world, I love all of the pastel colors including pink! Great video!
Thanks so much for visiting and taking the time to leave such a nice comment!
Have a wonderful weekend!

I painted my old sticks and bricks 9 different colors. Was a pain in the butt to paint over to sell it. Next time, I'm keeping the walls neutral and accenting with colors. That way, I can change it up more often.
Had no idea prison walls would be painted pink! Muy interesante!

I have been searching for this great post. I decorated my tiny house in a "I'm dreaming of a pink Christmas" theme this year and I will be doing a new post tomorrow or the next day and I want to link to your great post about "pink".
Thanks,
Tonita
