Did I vent my dryer into my office?

At least it appeared so.........
I moved my computer over the weekend to begin painting the office,
the dust bunnies came ALIVE!

I started naming them.

So, this was the before:

First I took off the doors - they will be re-used in another project.  Then I started painting.  It was quite a mess, as the bedroom is 10 x 10, the whole house only 320 sq ft.  So I had to paint on top of everything.  It looked like Best Buy had been hit by a tornado.

Oh my......
Then it was finished.  All creamy white, so clean and pretty

I put the shelves back (we built these ourselves! - Can you tell?  Don't answer that)

The keyboard drawer was a salvaged piece of oak - and ode to the man in my life who likes OAK.  This is the only piece in the whole house, I guess he can have it.

And here it is, all organized and ready for the new season!

Now, Get to WORK, Debra!

EEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I love it!
You wanna know the real reason I started a Purge Party?
To get our home ready to sell, so we can right-size our lives (down-size, whatever :).
To have less to maintain and keep will be much simpler.
I am so glad you stopped by! I am sure I will be learning a lot from you!
Have you seen the blog called Cottage 960 (as in 960 sq. ft.)? Her home is almost 3 times as big as yours, though :) Maureen is a friend of mine--you two could compare notes ;)
I want to feature you next week if I may?
We have a lot to learn in our society about consumerism. I have pondered this a lot!
I thank you for linking up to the purge party and I hope you can share your message with more and more people!
Hugs and blessings!

Your home is beautiful. We have been thinking a lot about ways we can "simplify". Thank you so much for sharing this with us. It was inspiring, to say the least.

Hi - Just stumbled onto your blog from Design Mom.
I like the books on your office shelves. ;) I have those too. "Good on you" for "simplifying" It's harder than than you think it is, I am sure. I just noticed that several comments above recognized your books too! Small world eh!

This is truly an inspiration to me! We are a young family of 3 also, our daughter is 4 I really want her to grow up with a sense of what is important. We are currently living in a house that is about 900 sq ft. We really want to downsize to house about half the size. I come from a long line of pack-rats so we are going to need to purge, a lot! I was wondering, how did you start the process and what first steps would you recommend?
