Crazy for tiny cottages

As you know, I am an advocate for smaller homes.  Mine is built on a trailer, because I WON"T BE TIED DOWN...... But for all those normal people out there, this is a viable option.

MUST get rid of stuff though - you CAN'T keep it.  Trust me, I have had it, and then not had it, and then went back to having it again, and am now on not having it.  Life is SO good.

Debra, thank you SO MUCH for stopping by my blog and commenting and becoming a follower! I cannot tell you how you have made my day. I came to check out your blog and love it! Your tiny little house is adorable! I love that you are stepping out there and doing "weird" things in order to be happy and make your dreams happen. I look forward to hearing more. I'm following you now. Thanks again!

I love the idea of a small house on wheels, but am mystified as to where you actually put it! The idea is to be self-sufficient but if you park it on someone else's land, you are messing with their lives of self-sufficiency. How does that work? My friend and I have been trying to figure out the actual logistics of it all!

Actually, we wanted land, but after careful thought, we decided against it. Our reasoning was that we would be 'tied' down, literally. We want to be able to move to do relief work in case we are needed. So our solution was to find space in a mobile home park. We pay $125 a month, month to month, and we are free to leave at any time. As far as a place to put it, this is a definite problem for many areas, as mobile home parks are less and less desirable. We just happened to find one close to where we wanted to be, with only three homes in it. It is safe, and clean, and I adore our landlord.

Hope it goes well with you in your quest to simplify!

Oh, i know the feeling of not wanting to be tied down! I was seriously considering renting a trailer for this contract. But. Kansas. I am thinking "tied down" is a relatively good thing in tornado alley.
