For me this is NOT a political thing.....

My decision has NOTHING to do with politics, or even with making a statement of any sort,  I have always loved tiny, shotgun homes in Mississippi and Louisiana.  Arkansas has quite a few as well.  However, this was quite and interesting video by Jay Shafer, the designer and CEO behind Tumbleweed Homes.  Did you know it is illegal to live in a tiny home?  Yes, in many places it is.  Weird, no?

These homes are darling but if you gain some weight...you have to build on! I am in total agreement in not having big homes. Although my home is much bigger than this. My home is 1,400 and it really is bigger than I need. Except I could use more closet space. But when I bought my home all my friends and acquaintances said...."Oh that's a great starter home." No...this is it....I won't be buying a bigger one. I don't need a bigger one. I have no desire for a bigger one. I'd rather have small and nice than big and full of junk. Great clip....thanks!

I found you at Brenda's (Cozy Little House) and I really enjoyed this interview with Jay. I have unexpectedly spent the last hour and half reading your blog, looking through pictures of your home, etc. I have had the small home mentality for many of the reasons Jay discussed and I thought 1550 sq. ft. was small. Like Nita, everyone would refer to my home as a great starter home until I gently explained that this is "the" home and I don't want to be house poor, a bigger space = more stuff to fill it with, etc. Anyhow, I would love an even tinier, shabby little house like yours. I am so intrigued by this. Good for you!

I was offline for weeks when my laptop was out of commission, so I will have to come back to watch this video. I still have to catch up on so many blogs. I'm looking forward to seeing this video though! Thanks for sharing.
Best,
Gloria
