Mirror Magic

In a small house EVERYTHING must have more than one use (my son not only serves as a food disposal, but also entertains us, for example).  My dumpster dive trophy (from a store that was in the process of being remodeled) was a disappointment:

Was this the best it could do?  Hair gym equipment and some paintings that I swap out every now and then were stuffed behind it as it leaned against the wall.

Our ‘little’ announcement

What a surprise on May 9th to hear beautiful Meredith Vieira’s announcement that she was leaving the Today Show.  Her reason?  To be more on hand for family.  I have no idea what her schedule is like, but that is MY announcement, and MY reason.  More and more, we women are realizing, it is not that we CAN”T have it all, we DON’T want it all.



We finally broke the news to our wonderful sales reps that we are pulling out of wholesale.  We have had a presence in the Atlanta Apparel Mart and the Dallas Mart for 10 years, and in over 900 stores across the south and southeast.  I will miss all these amazing people that we have shared our lives with.  Lullaby Embroidery was all-consuming, but it was so exciting.  Show Time was intense, exhausting, and exhilarating, all at once.  We had other seamstresses, but I also sewed.  Our coffee in the morning would have fuzz floating in the top, so I often said it was in our blood.

But no regrets, my son is 13, and he needs me and his daddy.  We have goals.  We want him to experience missionary life, to see how blessed he is.  It is so easy to take that for granted, and so hard to help them see what the rest of the world.  So here we go.
