This was the title my son ‘jokingly’ came up with.
These were photos of the first unit I thought we were going to get. When we were delivered the unit we have now, there were no windows. We were bummed a bit, but moved on quickly. Max still loved his loft.
He grew quickly, and in a year, he could barely sit in the center without stooping. We had planned on raising the roof from the beginning……it just took longer than planned. Asi es la vida.
So, without further ado, here it is.
We plan on painting gray, wide, horizontal stripes on the walls. His idea, I like it. He went with gray and red, rather than the orange and gray that I wanted. It is his room ![]()
This is a beauty. It is also the finest stick of furniture in my home : ) It is permanently entombed in the second story. I wish I had gotten photos of us lifting it into place before the walls were sealed up. Cool.
These photos are overexposed, but you can see how BRIGHT his room is now.
We have some awesome fabric coming, a Primere Prints, gray and white chevron pattern. My idea, he doesn’t care. Sweet boy.
And this…..this is not for the faint of heart. It is what makes me a cool mom……I think…..??? He LOVES his ladder up to his room. I have a new design in mind, one a bit more mom friendly. Next months project.
When I mentioned how happy I was that he had a REAL ROOM finally, he corrected me. “NO, I have an upgrade, I already had a cool room”. I love this kid.
We live in an awesome house.

I would have loved a cozy room like that as a child. Lucky Max!
Oh wow it looks wonderful! I think it is probably every child's dream to have a room like that. :) Gives me alot to think about as we plan our own tiny little house. How tall is the top of the new roof to the ground?

Make a happy, good-looking home.
Kudos to you!
Who built the 320 square foot home? Can I get a plan of it?
It was actually my design, I can give you a copy. E-mail me at minkeebabygifts at gmail dot com
Thank you! My boys are sweet to let me use flower print fabric :)

I love his room too!
So bright and yet cozy at the same time.
My kids would love climbing up a ladder to get
to a loft bedroom. Great use of space!

I absolutely fell in love with your blog. Your spirit and ideas for your home just amaze me and inspire! I love your blinds (I have them in every room downstairs--the looks is fabulous with curtains don't you think?)--and the older post with the pretty blue wicker chair and coordinating cushions--you had me at the windows already!
I love that you raised the roof on your tiny house! It looks beautiful. I bet he loves his new room. It's nice to see another family living tiny. Such a creative way to live! Best to you and your boys.
That's great! I enjoyed seeing the "upgrade". Love the dresser!
Oh, I love.love.love his room! It looks so wonderful and cozy! The blinds are fabulous too! I can't wait to see a video tour of all the upgrades in the future! Thank you for sharing and opening up your home!
Where did you find your fabric? I was just contemplating grey chevrons for the kiddos room this morning! I had been thinking about painting them on the floor but curtains would be less work! Lol
Love it! :-)
This so made me smile. :) What a great kid you have.
