My mother and father recently purchased a home nearby, it came equipped with BAMBOO BLINDS! YES!!! As my mom was taking them down to replace them with (sorry mom - UGH!! – METAL BLINDS!) my sweet brother-in-law said, “Oh good, you are getting rid of those ugly bamboo blinds”. He is a doll, my sister did great, and he has wonderful taste. HOWEVER, to each his own. I have been wanting these babies, like, FOREVER.
So, here is the ‘upgrade’. I’m not even posting the before – the befores’ are all over this blog. It’s not a big house to photograph.
I feel like cookin’ a lil’ somethin’ up.
There were TWO, so the other blind went in my bedroom. Small houses are very difficult to photograph : )
Lumpy kitty.
Going back to work now……I will now walk the long commute of 20 steps from my front door to my shop. I love working from home : )
There is a Party at……….Polohouse! and Redoux

Awesome! I want these.
Deborah, I love bamboo blinds, and have been looking at some for my kitchen window. I feel they add a touch of rustic charm, and a neutrality.
Very much like a sisal rug. They look just wonderful in your home, and I just love that spindle bed you have! Gorgeous!
Whoa! I love FREE, too!
Between your granite top and the blinds, you have really done well lately. Your home is so charming and cozy! It makes me think that if we have good, nourishing food and a warm bed, we are truly rich indeed.
Love these! They look great! Also, the context is important. Maybe they did not look so hot where they were before because they belonged down the street at your place....
Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting.

Darling!Just want to say I really enjoy your blog, lots of ideas for My tiny cottage.
Debra, Enjoy your new blinds! You are right; bamboo is very nice. And your new blinds go very well together with your chairs.
All the best,
Georgia
So thrilled you came by to link up at the party! Your sweet kitty is precious. I cannot believe how much mine are shedding these days. Luckily they tend to nap in the same spot most of the time so their fur is a bit more contained!!!
Thanks for stopping by!
Alison
Your little home is getting cuter and cuter. Love the changes.
The bamboo blinds are perfect for your cottage. ;-)
Oh my I am thrilled to have found your blog. We too live in a very small carriage house (inside our garage). It is 358 square foot and I must make a video like you did. We go south for 6 months and found it was ideal to downsize from our original 1900 square foot home and move to the country in a forest. Please drop by for a visit to my blog!
I love your blog, your house is so cute. I live in a small house also, about 1200 square feet. The slamming door does bring back memories. I joinned your blog. Hugs, Lynn
I came across the video of your home over at Shotgun Shack and followed the link to your blog. I totally love your home, and the video was very inspiring. Personally I don't thing 320sqf would work for me&hubs ánd our 4 cats but it does make you think! We are about to move from a 700sqf house into a new 1500sqf house and tbh it feels a little on the large side! But at the same time I'm looking forward to having more space to store my things. And then I run into a video like this and am thinking "right.. I really *should* purge a LOT of my stuff". Plenty has not been used in forever and I'm keeping just for the sake of.. keeping it. It would be a nice challenge to try live with less stuff then we have now in a bigger house then we have now!
You're right, somehow it seems to be the norm and expected of us to always upsize when you move, and get a bigger house (that you then just fill up with more stuff). But fact is that a lot of the smaller homes I've been in are a lot more cosy and personal. There's times I long back to my 200sqf studio I lived in during college or my 350sqf one bedroom apartment!
ps. I totally dig bamboo blinds over aluminum or metal ones as well! :)
